Love this video monitor
This monitor works great. The sound quality and picture quality is very clear. It works great in the dark too. I'm very satisfied with this product!

Love the monitor!!!! Light weight, small, excellent screen size.
We leave the 7" screen in our bedroom for night time viewing and audio. You will need to put some tape over speaker in back and over 1 1/2 in the front, because audio is very loud even on low. But the silk tape dampens the effect so we can sleep without hearing every little creak. But we hear him if he cries or asks for us.
The small handheld unit we use for nap time. It's great, love the belt clip, audio/video excellent. Great portability. My husband can take it to our shop with no diminishing in signal, approx. 100 yards. all metal bldg.
We had a bulky black and white unit prior to this one and I wish I would have purchased this one first. We turn to camera towards the entire room during day while he playing and before it was hard to differentiate him with other objects in room!!! But not anymore! Camera angle excellent, more wide angle viewing than before!!!

I purchased this baby moniter combo for my brother and his wife for there first baby and they absolutly love it. The screens are crystal clear and the sound is exellent the range is wonderful too!! I would recommend this product to anybody

happy with it except for the interference - which could be our house
I'm overall very happy with this monitor. I don't know how we could have lived without the ability to see our baby. The monitor is very handy. There is a larger TV receiver, and a handheld device. The handheld device runs on a renewable battery that you charge when you plug it in. The infrared camera lets you see your baby sleeping even in pitch darkness. Sometimes I put him in the crib but go back to my bedroom to see him on the monitor and make sure he's fallen asleep!

We have had some major reception/interference issues, but we do live in a tightly packed city and we have a lot of electronic equipment and a wireless network, 2 cellphones, game systems, etc. We find that the larger TV unit works better downstairs, so we use it there, and the handheld is in our bedroom. The interference can be loud enough to keep us awake, so sometimes we either drown it out with a sound machine (we can still hear baby noises), or turn it off and just listen for baby down the hall. So, you might ask why we bother? Because the video option allows us to see our baby in the dark, and know if he's just crying out in his sleep, or actually awake and needing us. It's also good to check if he's still alive and kicking, something a lot of new parents worry about! We don't have to walk into his room to check on that.

We are considering buying a second audio-only monitor with clearer reception. I would recommend you try this in your house and keep the receipt in case it doesn't work for you. there are digital monitors with video - but they are much more expensive. This one is great if it works for you.

Oh and just a note - when you plug in the handheld adapter, note that you have to use the volume control to turn it on. it also will not charge unless it is turned on. We thought it was broken until we called their support line and found out that we had to turn it on first via the volumne control. The manual was not clear on that point.

on/off switch broke within months
Video monitors are 100% worth the price. This is our third child and I wish I had it for the first two.

I did I like how this product worked, but the on/off button broke after just a few months. Now I have no monitor for my infant as I go through the warranty process with Summer Infant (if they actually replace it that is). If I have to buy another, I'll choose a different model.

Great to have 2 cameras!
I loved the Summer Infant Day/Night Handheld monitor. WHen I became pregnant with #2, I was upset I would have to give up using my monitor for #1. But, I realized I didn't. I bought this spare monitor and use both. It's wonderful! I can check up on both while napping and sleeping. Even though my #1 is almost 2 now, I like to be able to see him in his crib at night. My only complaint is I wish the camera would toggle automatically from channel to channel so I can keep watch on both my kids at night without having to manually switch the channel. Other than that, I get great reception and no problems with both cameras plugged in at my home.

This video monitor has been the best! Works wonderful both during the day and at night!! Definitely worth the cost.

Great second camera
I already own the Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Video Monitor (black and white model). I am SO happy to have found that I could order an additional camera for the set I already own and not have to buy an additional new set. I recently had a baby and needed a monitor for the second crib/room. This model works well with the older model that I have which is a black and white video monitor. I can now view both cribs with my handheld monitor by toggling back and forth between the two settings. I wish I had known about the additional camera sooner!

A lot of Static from Extra Camera
We got the extra camera along with the original camera/monitor. When we used it just with the one camera and on one channel it worked fine. As soon as we added the second camera on the second channel it caused a lot of static. If we move the monitor a few inches it goes from clear to static. Im not too happy about this but there is nothing I can do now except find a non-static spot to put the monitor in when it is on.

2nd camera for baby monitoring
Just love, love, love this system. I've bought 5! And now this is the second time I've bought a second camera for the system and it works brilliantly. I would highly recommend this system and it is well worth the initial cost.
