5 speed swing...not really
The swing speed on this item does not vary, at least not by any perceivable amount.
It is lightweight and that makes it easier to move around the house wherever it's needed, but it doesn't fold up into what I would call "easily portable" size. Overall I don't feel it was worth the 60 dollars I paid, but it does keep my twins entertained when they aren't desperately craving parental attention.

THE LEGS JUST SNAP TOGETHER AND THE SEAT FOLDS BUT BEYOND THAT NO WAY TO HOLD EASILY WITH ONE HAND!!! I LOVE THAT IT WENT SUPER FAST BECAUSE MY 3 MONTH DAUGHTER LOVED IT, BUT I JUST HATED THAT I COULDN'T CARRY IT WITH ONE HAND. THE FISHER PRICE AQUARIUM ONE IS PERFECT! IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FOLD UP BECAUSE THE BOTTOM LEG WIERDLY FOLDS BACKWARDS BUT I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT BECAUSE YOU CAN ACTUALLY CARRY IT AROUND WITH ONE HAND AND FIT THROUGH TIGHT SPACES WITH IT!!! Would have been great if...
the controls weren't screwed up!! They're completely backwards on mine (slow is fast; fast is slow) so when I went to use it the first time (I put it on the high speed to test it) nothing happened!! That was 6 months ago and my hubby finally figured out last night that the controls were switched. I wish I had known that 6 months ago so that my daughter could have gotten some use out of it.
Compact and fun
I got this for my newborn and it is working great. It takes up a lot less floor space then a traditional swing yet still soothes and entertains. My son loves it.

Easy Assembly, Sturdy Construction
The swing took us less than half an hour to assemble and required only a Phillips screwdriver. One minor problem: we had to re-thread the mobile so it could hang properly. The assembled swing has a 26-by-33-inch footprint and stands 47 inches tall with the mobile attached, so it takes up quite a bit of room. This is something to consider if you have limited living space. However, the base folds together easily, so you can lean it against a wall when it's not in use.

awesome swing!!!
This swing is a lifesaver, is gorgeous & has the awesome feature of being used as a papasan chair! The music is soothing, not annoying & the plug in feature is a great function!!! :)
A great swing!
When my baby was born, a friend loaned me this swing. We loved it! The baby always fell asleep in it within minutes. The music it played was really beautiful and peaceful. I really missed it once we returned it to the owner.
The only drawbacks were: the seat size - pretty small, so our baby outgrew it within a few months. Also the mobile didn't move on its own. If it had a larger seat and a moving mobile, I would have given it 5 stars.
Swings too fast for newborn/barely any room for shoulders
I wanted a more modern swing than the ones I have seen in the stores, and after a lot of research I went ahead and spent the money on this swing. The colors are beautiful and the design itself is nice. Putting it together took about 30 minutes. I also had problems snapping in the pieces, but my husband had no trouble with it, so I gave up and let him finish :)
Fisher Price says that this swing is for newborns up to 12 months. That is another reason I bought the swing. But now that our baby is here (she is 1 month now) I cannot imagine being able to fit her into this swing past 5 or 6 months. She already seems pretty uncomfortable in it, her shoulders barely fit in it and I think it swings a bit too fast for newborns, even on the lowest setting.
The mobile doesnt move, which probably makes sense, since the swing already does. But if she was just sitting in it without moving, it would be nice to have the option of a rotating mobile.
All in all, the swing is nice, but I dont think its worth the money, since there is no way it can be used more than a couple of months..

Pretty swing.
The colors of the swing are really pretty, and not too loud. I like the little blanket, and daughter likes the nature noises. She gets bored with the mobile though. My favorite part is that it plugs in so we don't have to worry about replacing batteries.

love this swing!
My son loves this swing! I like that it can swing from front to back or from side to side. And, I like that the music, lights and mobile all have seperate switches. Also, the swing can be battery operated or plugged in to the electric outlet. This swing is wonderful, I'm so glad we got it!

We've been using it from day one and how quickly time passes by. I have learned so many things about it that contradicts advises of others.
Some reviews wrote that the lowest setting swings too fast and it makes so much noise. Its true, but Ive considered the underlying misconceptions based on experience.
I observed that it does swing fast on the lowest setting when my baby was 6 pounds, but as she gains weight or I put a stuffed animal next to her, then everythings all well and nice.
yes, it makes creaky noise. Yet that creaky noise may sound soothing for our baby. Most mothers who have read pregnancy books know that infants have been exposed to loud sounds in the womb with mommy's heartbeat or liquid gushing to and fro. That's why white noise / ocean waves / pouring rain sounds are highly effective in making babies sleep longer. ( i wanted to buy that cloud b white noise but decided to download on my pod speaker the rain noise)
The swing makes life a bit easier sometimes. Every baby is different and my baby likes my warmth more than anything else so I can only use the cradle when she's in deep sleep for her nap. She sleeps 2 hours straight on it, wakes up a bit and sleep again for two hours.
If Im too lazy to transfer her, she ends up on a boppy. Both are nice.
Note:
I have two cradle swings, one for my in-laws when we visit and another for our home.
(2) I dont bother with the belt because Im ALWAYS in front for her when she's on it.
Way too fast!
I bought this swing from Babies R Us after reading all of the great reviews because I needed something to entertain my baby that reclined enough (she has acid reflux). Unfortunately when we got it home and set it up we found that it swings way too fast, even in the slowest setting! The swinging motion is also a little loud, but that wouldn't bother me if I weren't so worried about the swing making my baby sick or worse being unsafe. It seems particularly unsafe since it is just a 3-point harness system.
