Worked great for 10 months.
This monitor was fantastic while it lasted. There was never any static or interference from our multiple wireless networks in the house. The super-sensitive setting allowed me hear every wimper (not always a good thing).
Last week, the parent attachment started getting wonky. First, the device just randomly powered itself off. It was not due to a battery charge. Now, the lights on the device remain lit and green, but the connection to the baby device is severed. I can tell because there is no "air" sound. This is awful because there have already been 2 instances where I assumed everything was fine, but heard my daughter crying when I happened to move closer to that section of the house. As you can imagine, this is pretty upsetting.
I plan to trash this and buy an inexpensive model.

Buy the Sony Baby Call Instead !!!
Cons: Output volume is WAY too low ! Unless your baby is yelling at an extremely high level, you must be in an ultra-quiet environment to listen to anything. Definitely not worth the price !
Way too delicate: fell from by bedside table ONCE and it is not gone for good, doesn't work anymore !
Sony Baby Call is a much better product for less money.

Crystal Clear Sound
I just recently had child number 3 and I was disgusted by my useless and frustrating monitors from years past. I originally was searching for a video monitor but after much research it appears that there is not a really good one out there for the money, so I went ahead with this Philips Avent monitor. It is wonderful! From across the house or upstairs, the monitor is very clear and I especially like the way the lights light up at night to help wake me up without the monitor having to scream at me. It is not very loud but I have found that in reality you don't really need it that loud because it has no static. As a matter of fact, I turn it down to almost its lowest volume setting at night. I can also see that the intercom feature where the parent can talk to the child with the touch of a button may come in handy when I get closer to toddler stage. I usually plug mine in all night and then move it around the house during the day as needed and I have never had a problem with running out of battery. I really appreciate anything that makes my life a little easier!

Excellent, Clear Monitor with Great Range
This monitor is absolutely worth the money. A friend gave me a baby monitor, but it wasn't powerful enough, and had a ton of interference. This monitor works perfectly clearly all over our 3000 square foot, two-story home, and even half-way across the yard. It really is sensitive enough to hear my baby breathe.
The only suggestion I have regards the sensitivity setting. If the sensitivity is set any higher than 3 (3 out of 5 blue lights), I get feedback when I walk by the baby's bedroom. Also, if you're a light sleeper, you might want to adjust the sensitivity down at night. Otherwise, the monitor will light up every time your baby moves her head (yes, it really is that sensitive!). Overall, I'm really glad I shelled out a little extra money to get this monitor. It's been worth every penny.

Mom's monitor
I purchased this monitor to help my sister keep our elderly mother safe from falls and to respond to her needs quickly since her speech was affected by a stroke. My sister is very pleased with this product and has not reported any problems with interference.
