still being used by my almost-3-year-olds!
I got two of these as shower gifts when I was pregnant with my boy/girl twins. Now they are almost three, and they are STILL using them almost daily. (I never expected that by the time my next baby came along, I'd have to get a third chair because the other two would still be in use!) We use them for lots of messy activities, from finger painting to play-doh. Sometimes all 3 kids sit in these chairs to play with toys with small pieces so the pieces are less likely to be lost. Tip: Get colors you like, because you're going to be taking tons of "first time" pictures in these chairs!
When the twins were little and were still building up their head support, we used the backs and pads, and we put the seats in the semi-reclined position. (The handles that hold the trays are adjustable, so the tray can be positioned straight - horizontally to the floor - no matter what position the seat is in.) We used the 5-point harness to hold them in when they were little, too. They seemed very comfortable just hanging out, propped up in the chairs. Now we use them in "booster seat" mode, with no backs or pads. There is a 3-point buckle for the booster seat, but since we always leave the chairs on the floor, we don't buckle the kids anymore. At this age, they can slip in and out themselves as long as the trays aren't pushed too close to their bellies. They can even wipe their own trays clean, which makes this busy mama happy!
As far as safety goes, the big straps & buckles do seem to keep the high chairs secure on a kitchen chair. If your kitchen chairs don't have a space between the seat and the back, I'm not sure how well these high chairs will work for you, since there is a back piece that sticks out just a little. That back piece slides into the space between your kitchen chair's seat and back, to add extra security - but you might be able to make it work on a chair without that space. We always thought it was most convenient to use the high chairs on the floor, anyway. With that back piece sticking out for balance, we've never had them tip over, at least not backwards.
As far as the "space saver" aspect - I'd say no, they don't really save space, unless you count the fact that they can sit on an existing chair in your house. It doesn't bother us when we're at home, but when we're traveling, it does take up some room when we load all three of these chairs into the van! They're probably easier to move around than a big high chair would be, though - not heavy or bulky at all. It is WELL worth it to have them along at the grandparents' houses.
I think the instructions claim that the trays are dishwasher safe, but they're just a little too big to slide down into the spaces in a normal-sized dishwasher, without hitting the top rack. On the top rack, you'd have to lay them down totally flat, of course. It's best to just expect that you'll have to hand-wash them. Minor hassle.
Long story short, this has probably been the most most-used, longest-lasting gift that I received at any of my showers. They have withstood daily use for nearly three years now, and the kids don't show any signs of wanting to give them up yet. I highly recommend them to any new mom. Well worth the money.

Wonderful Highchair!!
I have nothing but positive things to say about this highchair. It is such a great alternative to a full sized highchair. Since it sits right on one of our kitchen chairs, it isn't taking up any additional space, and our baby is right at the table with us! It is very easy to get a baby in and out of. Additionally, all of the straps are easily removable for cleaning. I wish I had this chair when my older son was a baby, it would have saved me many a stubbed toe!!

Great Buy That Gives You Options
I love this high chair because it's easy to use and store. I didn't want a huge high chair in the corner of my kitchen all the time, especially since we were in the middle of house hunting and had no idea what our future kitchen/dining area was going to look like. With this chair, I can either keep it attached to a chair at our table, or if we have company coming over, I can take it off and store it in our pantry. Reattaching it is as simple as snapping two buckles. Also if my baby is going to spend the day over at grandma's (who does not have a high chair), I can easily take it along. The rest of the features seem pretty much standard on a high chair, and I haven't found anything I don't like about it. I have recommended this too many people and will continue to do so.

The Perfect High Chair
I started looking for a high chair with an open mind. After searching and looking at old fashion and modern styles and all types of chairs this one is the best. Not only for space saving but also for the support it gave my 4 month baby girl who still needed help seating up. We can use it at the kitchen table, dining table and it is very light to carry from one place to another. We all love it!

Happy with high chair
This high chair was just what i needed. It's compact, sturdy, easy to carry, versatile,& easy to clean. I'm very happy with this product. I would buy another one.
