Great monitor!!
We bought this monitor after reviewing/researching several brands! Love this monitor!!!! Quit looking...buy this one!

Good video Monitor
Works great, have wireless phones and a wi-fi network hub that is between the camera and monitor and it work's w/o interference. Sound works good, and turning on the lullaby remotely is a good tool to use. Don't like that the audio cuts off if there is minimal sound. The whole unit goes mute until a sound is loud enough to trigger it and with the delay of the speaker kicking in, who knows what audio source actually tripped the speaker. Speaker isn't loud, keep that in mind for the hearing impaired. A lot of the audio-only devices are LOUD, this one...not so much.

We've had this thing for about a month, works like a champ. Keep in mind the decreased audio may be because we have the camera kinda far away to get a wide angle. We bought this for the "big girl bed" in the event she got up and around the safety bar.

It's okay when it works, while it worked
The main reason I purchase this monitor was for it's interference free feature, but that's about the only thing that really worked. The moment we received this monitor and test it, we noticed already that the sound comes in and out. Since we cannot find this at any of our local stores, we decide to live with it since we only use it for naps (our baby's crib is in our room).
So basically our video monitor only has video but not reliable sound, and then after a couple months, the video started to go too. The video quality got so bad I can hardly make out my baby's face! I called Levana support and the operator sounded like she did not believe the video quality has problems, told me a couple of times that I need APPROVAL FROM THEM before I can pay for the shipping to send it back and wait up to 6 weeks for them to test it. I asked them what am I gonna do without a baby monitor for 6 weeks, and they basically told me it was my problem. Soon after that, even the poor quality video went in and out. So we gave up and pay another 0 for a new summer infant bestview monitor and call our internet provider to reroute the cable so to minimize the interference with our wireless router. We're extremely happy with the summer infant monitor, the sound quality is excellent and we love that we can remote control the camera and zoom to look for our baby without going in her room. (she rolls around a lot!)

I read some really good reviews of this product before I made the purchase, and I believe that had I got one that works, I'll be quite happy too. So buyers be warned, if you buy this and has problems, you'll need to get approval, pay for shipping, purchase an additional monitor while you wait for them to test it and decide whether they are going to fix the alleged problem. All in all I think this is quite a risky choice.

Disappointed
I bought this monitor because of the great reviews and am very disappointed. The video feature is great, I like the added music feature and the battery life is great HOWEVER - the audio quality is TERRIBLE. My son is 3 weeks old and still sleeping in our room so it hasn't been a huge issue, but unless he's blue in the face screaming, the audio monitor won't pick it up. If he's down for a nap during the day, my first indication that he's awake is that I can see him moving in the video and his mouth is open or I can hear him down the hall (but not on the monitor). When it does pick up sound it goes in and out and doesn't hold the sound. I can't put him to sleep in his room overnight b/c I'm worried I won't hear him until he's hysterical...I haven't tried to return this yet, but i hope amazon makes it an easy process.

De verdad, que la facilidad de prenderla, conecatrla y usarla es muy pero muy simple. EL alcance es excelente, he podido colocar la cámara en el cuarto del bebé y recorrer todo mi apartamento ( 120mts cuadrados) y la imagen es perfecta, no hay interferecnias de ningún tipo, el color es muy bueno, eso si, hay que colcoar la cámara muy cerca al bebé apra verlo bien, si se aleja mucho no se aprecian bien los detalles, pero se sigue viendo bien. El sonido es perfecto y se puede graduar, el botón que tiene para que la cámara solo e active cuando hay rudio es muy bueno, eso sireve para que el monitor no ilumine mucho nuestro cuarto cuando esta encendida, o sea, apretamos el boton, la camara queda oscura, cuando la bebé llora se enciende...excelente. Por otro lado, podemos desde nuestro monitor, oprimir un botón para que la cámara emita tes tipos de musica en la cámara de la bebé, o sea desde nuestro cuarto seleccionamos la música y en la camara de ella suena..tono inalámbricamente.
la camara no pesa mucho, y se puede portar en la correa del cinturón.
La cámara viene con un soporte que se puede ajustar a cualquier tipo de cuna, corral, o cama.
Sinceramente estoy feliz con este producto.

Fantastic, until it quit working!
This was a wonderful monitor - loved the light indicator, no interference with phones or wifi, and the volume and sensitivity were easily adjusted - but earlier this week, it just started turning itself off in the middle of the night. No beeps, nothing - we'd just wake up to the baby crying in his room on the other side of the house (who knows how long he'd been going), and the monitor would have turned itself off. We tried several different things to fix it, and nothing worked, and his room is just too far from ours for us to not be able to trust our monitor.

So, the monitor was great until it just stopped working. We'll be buying a new monitor this afternoon.

Mostly great, but backup battery feature is very flawed
We've been using the Aveda SCD510 for seven months. We bought it based on the positive reviews we've seen and the fact that it has a two-year warranty. We find the signal to be reliable, the sound to be perfectly adequate in every corner of our two-story apartment, and the design to be easy to use. One feature that sold us on this product is that both the base (baby) unit and the end (parent) unit can run on battery power when not plugged into the wall. If you're roaming around the house, you can take the parent unit with you as long as you keep the rechargeable batteries charged. That's always worked just fine for us.

As it turns out, though, the batteries in the _baby_ unit are another story. The manufacturer's assumption is that the baby unit stays in the nursery and doesn't get moved around. Thus, the battery backup is not designed for portable use, but rather for power backup in case of a blackout. It uses AA batteries, not a rechargable battery pack. This is a problem, because as a power backup, the battery feature doesn't do its job.

If you have a clock radio or other devices that use a battery backup, you know that every 6-12 months, you need to swap out the battery for a fresh one. This is because installed batteries slowly drain over time, even if you haven't been using them. With the Avent, though, the batteries drain in mere days. We found that within a few days of installing the batteries, we couldn't get them to work for more than a few minutes before the unit just shut down due to low batteries.

I called Philips Avent customer service, and their answer was such a disappointment. They acknowledged that batteries installed in the baby unit will be drained in a short time. So, they recommend keeping the batteries separate. If the power goes out, you have to open up the unit, install the batteries, and then remove them again when the power is on again.

This defeats the purpose, doesn't it? If the power goes out at night and you're asleep, the baby unit will fail either because you've removed the batteries as the manufacturer recommends, or because you left the batteries in and they're dead.

This design flaw knocks what would be a 5-star rating down to 3 stars.

Couldn't ask for more, very pleased
As brand new parents we wanted some piece of mind with our monitor but didn't want the tempation of watching a video monitor all the time. The Philips Avent monitor has been perfect. We have had no problems with it what so ever and I think it has spoiled us. If we take it to another person's house and put him down for a nap/sleep the other parents marvel at the range and clarity of our monitor. We are very confident when we turn it on. Our range has been up to a block away in the city and even farther in the burbs. It was more expensive but it remains one of the best purchases we've made. The battery lasts very long, we often go days with out remembering to charge it without any problems. It is lightweight and small. I like being able to use it as a intercom as well. This is my 1st internet review of a product, I wanted to make sure I gave this monitor the props it deserves.

Adult monitor, too
Works fine. We use it to monitor a diabetic's Continuous Glucose Monitor - its beeps are not loud enough to wake a sound sleeper. At top volume, it does wake me over my CPAP (boy do we have devices). Ambient noise is not an issue for us, due to the CPAP.

Other reviewers commented that the monitor goes to sleep, only waking up after a few seconds of noise, when set to lower than maximum volume. If true, this would be a major issue for us, except that ours is always at top volume.

DECT is a big plus in this situation, both for clarity and privacy. Since the mobile unit is always plugged in and stationary, this model is the right one for us. For monitoring a baby, I'd prefer Philips Avent Digital Screen Baby Monitor with DECT Technology or maybe Philips AVENT DECT Baby Monitor with Temperature and Humidity Sensors, SCD530, White / Blue, both of which feature charging cradles.

The Best
I LOVE this monitor. There is absolutely ZERO interference since it operates on its own frequency. The sound is crystal-clear. I have no idea what other reviewers are talking about when they say the volume is too low on this monitor. Perhaps they have the base too far away from the crib? I think the volume is excellent on this monitor--I can hear my baby BREATHING and the monitor is on a shelf next to her crib. The monitor holds a charge for about 11 hours and has a really long range. I also love that it lights up when it detects noise....that way when I am blow-drying my hair and can't listen to it, I can just watch it to see if my daughter woke up. I highly recommend this product.

We like it
When my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer and requested home hospice care, I bought this product. I became her sole 24/7 care-giver. This product was a huge relief for me because I could continue my normal (relative to the situation) activities and still be there to assist her when I was truly needed. I never tried battery operation because of the power drain of IR lights and video, but the reviews at the time (late 2006) were mostly good. I never had any of the static or battery problems I read about here. Every part of this system worked as I expected it to work. I was happy with the quality of the product...and It did exactly what I wanted for four months. After my Wife passed, My daughter announced she was pregnant. I gave her the system when my new grand son was born. My daughter and her husband used it for another 8 to 10 months and loved it. They had no issues with it.

I am considering buying another complete MOBI system for security and placing it to view my front door. The only problem I have with this unit is the small size of the monitor. Unless you can position the monitor at very close range, you can not see it.

Do not Buy
This monitor has constant reception issues. Most the time I can not hear our baby crying over the static. I have tried everythiing to get it to work correctly. I am currently looking for just a clear voice monitor. I find that I dont watch the screen as much as I thought I would. Voice is plenty to let me know when my little guy is awake.

Very static
The picture goes in and out very static takes 6 aa batteries to use un plugged not worth the money but you get what u pay for

Junk out of the box... pretty decent after antenna mod!
Like everyone else, this thing was very staticky and noisy out of the box. Barely usable. After opening it up and soldering an 8-inch thin solid copper wire to the transmitter's internal antenna it works like a charm. Good reception throughout house. BTW, the internal antenna is in the top, by the camera ball and looks like a spring.

It was a gift for a friend, Makes no since for me to write a review but amazon wont stop emailing me until i do
